Nintendo DSi
I ordered the blue version, giving the system a whimsical appearance. Right off the bat, I like the fact that the shell doesn't attract finger prints, due to its matte surface. Music can be saved, making the DSi act in the vein of an iPod. I haven't tried this function, because I need to purchase an SD card reader. Many computers today have SD card compatibility, but even though my Mac is quite powerful, lacks such ability.
So, what else is there to know about the DSi? You can download games over a wi-fi connection, including a downloadable Internet browser. The games can be purchased via a credit card or by using Nintendo DSi points, which can be bought at EB Games or GameStop, among other locations. Every 1000 points equals $10. DSi points are sold in a 2000 point quantities, totaling $20.
Lastly, there are two cameras, one on the back and one on the front of the screen. As far as digital cameras go, this is on the low end of the spectrum. If you like shooting photos on a camera phone, then this will be a pretty similar experience. There are some filters which add effects to your pictures, but it's a novelty function at best.
